CODEPINK for President!

(May 13, 2004 ) — There’s a woman candidate for president? A candidate who loves CODEPINK so much that she wears pink every day? A candidate who says that we must end the occupation of Iraq and bring the troops home?

A candidate who says that in this, the richest nation in the world, we must make sure that everyone has access to health care, free public education (including college) and jobs at living wages?

A candidate who says we must cut our out-of-control military budget and close the corporate tax loopholes so we can build a clean, green economy that gets us off our addiction to fossil fuels?

A candidate who says scrap the Patriot Act, pass trade agreements that promote Fair Trade not Free Trade, and take back the public airwaves?

CODEPINK co-founder Medea Benjamin is running for president. And guess what? A vote for Medea won’t have people screaming that she helped re-elect George Bush. Because Medea is running for president on the upcoming TV show American Candidate, coming on Showtime in Summer 2004.

American Candidate is a ground-breaking television series in which the American people will identify a People’s Candidate that they would like to see run for President of the United States.
