Al-Anbar Province.
Al-Fallujah.

US tries to lure “al-Fallujah Sharpshooter,” but only succeeds in losing two American “bait” soldiers killed.

In a dispatch posted at 11:30pm Mecca time Saturday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US forces had laid an ambush in order to capture the al-Fallujah Sharpshooter who has become well known in recent days for his deadly attacks on US and Iraqi puppet forces in the city.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Americans placed two Zeal troop transport vehicles loaded with soldiers on the main street opposite the Industrial Zone in al-Fallujah, hoping to draw the Resistance sharpshooter out.

The Sharpshooter did respond to the opportunity and opened fire on the Americans, shooting and killing two of them, but then getting away, eluding capture.  A witness told Mafkarat al-Islam that he saw two Americans fall from the “bait” vehicle but that no battle took place nor was there any exchange of gunfire.

The correspondent reported that this was not the first time that American forces had tried to ambush and kill the al-Fallujah Sharpshooter, who has become a kind of phantom haunting the US forces and picking them off everywhere in the city.

In a dispatch posted at 11pm Mecca time Saturday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a US military patrol in al-Fallujah, some 60km west of Baghdad at about 6pm local time Saturday evening.

The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the bomb went off by a patrol of four American Humvees as it was driving along ath-Tharthar Street in the city.

The explosion destroyed one of the American vehicles, the witnesses said.  No specific information on the nature or extent of US casualties was available, however.

Al-Habbaniyah.

Two US troops reported killed in bombing in al-Habbaniyah neighborhood.
In a dispatch posted at 3:55pm Mecca time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a US column on the main road in the as-Sakani neighborhood near the US base in al-Habbaniyah, west of Baghdad.

The al-Habbaniyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the main road in the area blew up as a US military column was driving past.  The explosion destroyed one American personnel carrier, killing two US soldiers and wounding three others the correspondent reported.

Resistance bomb blasts patrol near US base in al-Habbaniyah.
In a dispatch posted at 11:50am Mecca time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a US patrol in the al-Madani neighborhood near the American-occupied base in al-Habbaniyah, 25km west of al-Fallujah on Saturday morning.  After the invasion of Iraq, US forces occupied the fomer al-Hadbah Iraqi military air base and set up their own facility there.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that fire could be seen burning in a vehicle there but no information on the nature or extent of US casualties was available.

Ar-Ramadi.

US troops storm into al-Anbar University, wreck equipment, arrest students, break into women’s dorms.
In a dispatch posted at 3:50pm Mecca time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US forces backed by armored vehicles and helicopter gunships stormed into al-Anbar University in western ar-Ramadi early on Saturday morning.  The American occupation troops were still there when the correspondent filed his report.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported Dr. Khalid al-QarrahoGhly, the Director of Information of the mosque as saying that SU forces had stormed into the University, wrecking the furniture and equipment, including scientific supplies and laboratory equipment. The Americans arrested a number of the students, and broke into the private women’s dormitories as well.  They gave no explanation for their raids or their arrests.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported professors from the University as saying that housing for al-Anbar faculty located near the university was also raided and searched by the Americans who seized a large quantity of the contents of the professors’ homes.

Resistance bombardment reportedly kills two US soldiers in ar-Ramadi’s as-Sufiyah area.
In a dispatch posted at 10:20am Mecca time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired a barrage of mortar rounds into a concentration of US troops in the as-Sufiyah area in northeastern ar-Ramadi, some 110km west of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of as-Sufiyah who witnessed the bombardment as saying that the barrage killed two US soldiers and wounded two more of them.

Imam of ash-Shafi’i Mosque assassinated.
In a bulletin posted at 3:40pm Mecca time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that unknown armed men had shot and killed Shaykh ‘Abd al-Ghafur al-Mulla, the Imam of the al-Imam Sunni ash-Shafi’i Mosque in the at-Ta’mim neighborhood of ar-Ramadi.  No further details were immediately available.

Baghdad.

Bombs target puppet police in Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 6:40pm Mecca time Saturday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi puppet police in Baghdad had been blasted by Iraqi Resistance bombs twice in the previous 24 hours

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of the al-Mansur neighborhood of western Baghdad as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of 14 Ramadan Street blew up by a puppet police patrol, destroying one patrol vehicle and killing two puppet policemen and wounding a third.

Regarding the second incident, a source in the Iraqi puppet police told the correspondent that a bomb that had been planted by the main road in the al-Mashtal area of eastern Baghdad blew up by a puppet police patrol, damaging two patrol vehicles and killing one puppet policeman and wounding three more of them.

In a dispatch posted at 4:40pm Mecca time Saturday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a US military column on the main road to the US base in the northern Baghdad district of al-A’zamiyah.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported reported a source in the al-A’zamiyah puppet police as saying that the bomb, which had been planted by the side of the road to the US base in the district, destroyed an American Humee, killing one US soldier and wounding three more of them.

In a dispatch posted at 10:50am Mecca time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded on the highway leading to Baghdad al-Jadidah in the southeastern part of the occupied Iraqi capital.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet “Rapid Deployment Forces” as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side fo the highway blew up as a column of several American Humvees was driving past.  The explosion disabled one Humvee and wounded three US troops who were aboard it, one of them severely.

Resistance bomb blasts convoy bringing supplies to US bases.
In a dispatch posted at 1:40pm Mecca time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a convoy of supply trucks hauling provisions to US bases around al-Mahmudiyah on the highway south of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police in al-Mahmudiyah as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the highway blew up by the convoy, setting fire to one of the trucks and wounding its driver who was working for the US occupation forces.

Jurf as-Sakhr.

In a dispatch posted at 1:30am Mecca time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces bombarded the headquarters of the Iraqi puppet “National Guards” in the town of Jurf as-Sakhr, 60-70km southwest of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of the as-Sandij village in the Jurf as-Sakhr area as saying that six 82mm mortar rounds blasted into the puppet base, setting off explosions and sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky from within the base.

Ba’qubah

Four US troops reported killed in bombing in Ba’qubah.
In a dispatch posted at 5:45pm Mecca time Saturday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a large-size Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by an American military column in the middle of Ba’qubah, northeast of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported sources in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the main road to the center of the city blew up as an American column was driving past.  The explosion destroyed an American personnel carrier, killing four US troops and wounding two more of them.  US helicopters were seen landing at the site to haul away the wrecked vehicle and the bodies of the dead and wounded Americans.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of a farm road blew up disabling oen Humvee and wounding four American troops.

Al-‘Azim.

In a dispatch posted at 5:30pm Mecca time Saturday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses of the first attack as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the main road in al-‘Azim as an Iraqi puppet army column was driving past.

The bomb destroyed one Iraqi puppet army troop transport, killing three puppet troops and wounding a fourth.

In a second bombing attack, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had blasted a column of Iraqi puppet army troops near the southern entrance to al-‘Azim.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the blast disabled one Iraqi puppet vehicle, killing two Iraqi puppet troops and wounding two more of them.

Al-Miqdadiyah.

In a dispatch posted at 11am Mecca time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by an Iraqi puppet army column on the highway from Baghdad to Shahraban (al-Miqdadiyah).

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of Shahraban as saying that a bomb that had been planted on the highway disabled one troop transport vehicle, killing two Iraqi puppet troops and wounding two more of them.

Tikrit.

Resistance bomb in Tikrit area blasts US patrol.
In a dispatch posted at 5:15pm Mecca time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a US patrol on the main street in the ad-Dawr area south of Tikrit.

The Tikrit correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb that had been planted on the road in the area blew up by a patrol of several American Humvees, disabling one and killing or wounding three US troops aboard it.

Samarra’.

Three US troops reported killed in two bombings in Samarra’.
In a dispatch posted at 5:05pm Mecca time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that two Iraqi Resistance bombs had blasted US forces in the city of Samarra’, some 120km north of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that in the first instance, a Resistance bomb that had been planted by the side of the main road in the al-Mu’tasim neighborhood of Samarra’ blew up disabling a US Humvee and killing one American soldier and wounding two more of them.

In a second attack, witnesses said, a massive high-yield bomb that had been planted by the side of the main road blew up as a column of several American tanks and Humvees was driving past.  The explosion completely destroyed one US tank, killing two American troops and wounding four more of them, the correspondent reported.

Ad-Dulu’iyah.

Resistance bomb blasts puppet “Shock Troops.”
In a dispatch posted at 12:30pm Mecca time midday Saturday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a patrol of puppet “Interior Ministry Shock Troops” on the road between ad-Dulu’iyah and Samarra’, north of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of ad-Dulu’iyah who witnessed the attack as saying that the bomb destroyed one patrol vehicle killing and wounding the four puppet “Shock Troops” aboard it.

Bayji.

Bomb northeast of Bayji reportedly kills US soldier.
In a dispatch posted at 12:10pm Mecca time midday Saturday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a US military column on the road from Bayji northeast towards to ar-Riyad and Kirkuk.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police in Bayji as saying that a bomb that had been planted on the road to Kirkuk blew up by a passing US column, disabling an American Bradley armored vehicle and killing one US soldier and wounding three more of them.

Resistance fires Katyusha rockets into American-occupied al-Bakr base.
In a dispatch posted at 11:10am Mecca time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had bombarded the US-occupied al-Bakr military base about 100km north of Baghdad with medium-range Katyusha rockets.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet “Iraqi National Guard” as saying that two Katyusha rockets scored direct hits on the US-occupied base, inflicting casualties among the American troops.

Kirkuk.

Resistance bomb reportedly kills US soldier southeast of Kirkuk.
In a dispatch posted at 1:50pm Mecca time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US column on the main road between Kirkuk and Diyala Province.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that a bomb on the road to the southeast from Kirkuk had exploded near the American-occupied as-Siddiq base as an American military column was driving past.  The explosion disabled a Humvee, killing one American soldier and wounding a second.

Resistance bomb targets British military column in al-Basrah Saturday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 4pm Mecca time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a British military vehicle at the al-Basrah Education Administration intersection on the main road between al-Basrah and Baghdad on Saturday morning.

The al-Basrah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the bomb disabled a British Jeep.  No information on the nature or extent of British casualties was available.
