Voters for Peace is working with activists in the San Francisco Bay Area on a project to reduce the military budget by 25% as a first step toward putting the necessities of the American people before weapons. See the poster for more information (http://votersforpeace.us/IMC-031909-Poster.pdf).
You can print out and share the flier with your friends and neighbors. More information about the campaign is available at Iraq Moratorium Campaign of the Bay Area, www.iraqmoratorium-sfbay.org.
The goal of the campaign is to begin to cut the bloated U.S. military budget which makes up more than half of federal discretionary spending and equals the spending of the whole world combined. The initial goal is a 25% cut in the military budget, ending of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and providing funding to the necessities of the American people.
Please join this effort and help change the direction and priorities of America.

It’s been another year of war and occupation around our globe. March 19th marks the 6th un-happy birthday of the war andoccupation of Iraq. Some might believe, or wish to believe, that this particular war is over but , it is not. People are still dying everyday. This year we observe this terrible anniversary from within the context of a global economic crises of epic proportions. And from within the war that continues to burn here at home, on our own streets, war on immigrants, war on youth of color, war on the poor.
We need to observe this anniversary together. Each from our place in our community we must raise our voices to say NO to War and Militarism, No to Occupation from Iraq to Oakland.
Yes to Peace to Yes to real change, Yes to social and economic justice.
PLEASE COME OUT ON MARCH 19H AND MAKE VISIBLE OUR DETERMINATION TO
