Vladimir Putin Warns US over
‘Nuclear Strike’ Threat as Russia Won’t Back Down
Henry Holloway / The Daily Star
(March 30, 2017) — The Russian leader laid down the ultimatum as he promised Russian military build-up will continue in the face of US missiles deployments in Alaska and Europe. Putin warned the US missiles defence systems are “one of the most serious problems in modern times.”
His comments come after Russian military chiefs warned of the rising threat of “nuclear war” in Europe.
Putin said: “While what we are doing is of local nature, what the US is doing in Alaska is of global nature. A missile defense system is being developed there.
“This system is one of the most serious problems of the modern times in the security sphere. It’s not just a defense system, it’s a part of the nuclear potential brought to the periphery.” He added: “This is not something that prevents a nuclear missile attack, but something that minimizes the so-called retaliatory strike.”
Putin stressed Russia doesn’t intend to be at war or compete with the US — but would respond to threats from the Pentagon. But he called for “cooperation” between the powers — as US President Donald Trump is thought to want to warm up relations with Russia.
Putin said: “Russia and the US are nuclear powers. We have a special responsibility to the planet, to the international community for the international security. “Of course, the sooner we establish cooperation in the military sphere, the better.”

British Tanks and Troops Sets Sail towards
Russia in Biggest Deployment Since Cold War
Henry Holloway / The Daily Star
LONDON (March 30, 2017) — Trucks, troops and tanks sailed out from Southampton today heading towards Russia. Weaponry and manpower will be join British forces in Estonia designed to tackle a resurgent Vladimir Putin.
NATO commanders claim the troops are a “reassurance package” for allies in Eastern Europe. Around 200 vehicles including 50 Warrior tanks have rumbled aboard the huge ferry moored at the Sea Mounting Centre in Marchwood.
Troops and trucks are from the Tidworth based 5th Battalion Rifles and will makeup part of the UK’s battle group Forward Presence.
The move comes as Vladimir Putin warned “nuclear strike” threats from the West will be matched by Russia.
Next week, another 800 soldiers will be flying out to join the vehicles in Estonia. Captain Charlie James said: “It’s about deferring Russian interests in the Baltic states since what happened in the Ukraine.” Putin annexed Crimea from the former Soviet state in a move condemned by the US and NATO.
Soldiers and vehicles will be training for battle in the forests of Estonia alongside local troops and forces from other nations in NATO. Russia has also continued to build-up forces in the Baltic — with both sides claiming they are responding to the threat from the other in the tinderbox region.
Russian military chiefs warned of “nuclear war” in Europe unless the US build-up of missiles ceased.
President Obama Threatens
President Putin With Nuclear War
Eric Zuesse / Global Response
WASHINGTON (October 16, 2017) — It’ll be at a time of our choosing,” says U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, on NBC”s “Meet the Press,” aired on Sunday, October 16th.
Interviewer Chuck Todd had asked him, “Why would he [Obama] send a message out to Putin?” Biden pursed his lips, paused, and said, with a grim look on his face, “We sent him the message.”
Of course that didn’t answer Todd’s question, which was “Why?” Biden and Todd both remained silent for another tense moment. Then, Biden picked up again: “We have the capacity to do it, and, uh,” and Todd interrupted him there with “He’ll know it?”
Biden replied: “He’ll know it, and it’ll be at a time of our choosing, and under circumstances that have the greatest impact. Uh, the capacity to do, to fundamentally alter the election, is not what people think; and, uh, I tell you what: to the extent that they do [‘do’ presumably meaning: fundamentally alter the election], we will be proportionate in what we do. And, uh,”
Todd again interrupted his interviewee, and said, “So, a message is going to be sent. Will the public know?” Biden replied, “Hope not.”

Vladimir Putin Threatens US with Nuclear War
Putin Plans Nuclear Response over NATO
Zoe Efstathiou / The Express
(November 28, 2016) — Last week, Putin claimed he was stationing nuclear weapons within firing distance of Europe in response to NATO’s efforts to enlist new member countries, which the Russian president sees as an attack.
But now, SeNATOr Franz Klintsevich, from Russia’s Upper House has added weight to the threat, claiming the Kremlin will not hesitate to take action against any NATO country it considers to be a threat.
Mr. Klintsevich said: “In reply to NATO’s aggressive actions, to the alliance’s attempts to draw more and more nations into their orbit, there will be a harsh and unambiguous response from Russia’s side.
“We will aim our weapons, including the nuclear ones, at any of the alliance’s site that would threaten us, wherever these sites are placed.”
