Ukraine Receives Another Shipment of US Weapons

(January 23, 2022) — Ukraine has received a second shipment of a new $200 million weapons package that was approved by President Biden in December. Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov celebrated the shipment on Twitter and said more will come.
“The second bird in Kyiv! More than 80 tons of weapons to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities from our friends in the USA! And this is not the end,” Oleksii wrote.
The first shipment arrived in Ukraine on Saturday and was announced by the US Embassy in Kyiv. “The first shipment of assistance recently directed by President Biden to Ukraine arrived in Ukraine tonight. This shipment includes close to 200,000 pounds of lethal aid, including ammunition for the front line defenders of Ukraine,” the Embassy said.
“Lethal aid” is US government jargon for military equipment that can kill people. Besides ammunition, the new aid package is said to include small arms, heavy machine guns, Javelin anti-tank missiles, and other anti-armor artillery.
Since the 2014 US-backed coup in Kyiv, the US has provided Ukraine with about $2.7 billion in military aid. But it wasn’t until the Trump administration that the US started sending lethal aid.
More US military aid will be headed to Ukraine this year. The 2022 National Defense Authorization Act authorized $300 million for Ukraine. NATO allies are also sending the Ukrainians weapons. The UK recently announced that it has begun supplying Kyiv with anti-tank weapons.

(January 23, 2022) — British ‘Intelligence’ is still weaving whole cloth for the [David] Sanger Sewing Machine, just in time for it to be “wowed at” on today’s Sunday TV talk shows.
This time it is the Russians, who supposedly are — in addition to everything else — now plotting a coup in Ukraine [Ed. like the West did exactly 8 years ago?]. (See this morning’s New York Times piece co-authored by Sanger.)
This episode brings a wicked flashback to Sept. 2002 when miscreants in British ‘Intelligence’ astounded the world by reporting that Saddam Hussein could order a chemical attack that would go boom in just 45 minutes! That piece of fabricated ‘intelligence’ was seized on to help get Congress to approve the US/UK attack on Iraq. (If memory serves, it also was given pride of place on the Sunday TV talk shows — as was the case this morning with the latest British drivel.)

Even former CIA Director George Tenet, not particularly known for his honesty, seemed to lapse into momentary truth, when he alluded to that British report on Iraq as the “they-can-attack-in-45-minutes shit”. Yes, that’s how he described it to Bob Woodward later.
It would have been nice if Tenet had had the courage and integrity to have told the rest of the world THEN, before Cheney and Bush created havoc in the Middle East. Tenet was one of the few acutely aware of what was going on and — specifically — how intelligence (over which he had purview) was being politicized.
