Foreign Aid Is a Con
Sgt. Dan McKnight / Bring Our Troops Home
(August 31, 2023) — The old saying goes “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.” But what if our country got fooled more than 113 billion times?
That’s the amount of money we’ve given away to the Volodymyr Zelensky regime in Ukraine — not just contributing to our national debt and depleting our weapon stockpiles, but drastically increasing the risk of World War III with Russia. And that $113 billion is just part of the foreign aid money we give to other governments, from Egypt to Israel to subsidizing NATO and the European Union.
It’s an open secret that the American taxpayer is getting taken advantage of.
Our wallets are getting filched to fund the defense of other governments for threats they know aren’t real.
I’ll give you just one example: Moldova. In a recent interview, Moldova’s President Maia Sandu said “We believe that Ukraine needs to get more support…Everybody should understand that if Ukraine is not helped then Russia will not stop in Ukraine or Moldova. This is also about the security of the [European] continent…”
So we’re told straight from the horse’s mouth that Moldova is under an existential threat from a hungrily expansionist Russia and Vladimir Putin is ready to gobble it up.
So what emergency actions is President Sandu taking to preserve her country’s independence? They must be very stark; full mobilization of every able-bodied man, nationalization of key defense industries, a lopsided budget focusing on the procurement of weapons, etc.
Not quite…
From the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA):
“While Moldova’s Ministry of Defense announced plans to modernize after Russia’s 2014 invasion of Ukraine, few of these plans were realized. And while the 2024 defense budget will expand by 68%, compared to 2022, this actually translates to only about $80 million, a mere 0.55% of the nation’s GDP.”
“The American people have constantly been lied to.”

It’s All a Con to Get Your Money
These foreign governments would rather you pay for their basic defense needs than do it themselves. And why wouldn’t they? As long as Uncle Sam is printing out money by the trillions, who wouldn’t want to partake in the handouts?
If Maia Sandu actually believed Moldova was the last line of defense before Russian hordes devastated Europe, don’t you think she’d bother to spend just 1% of her annual budget to address it?
Shame on any American politician who votes to send your money to undeserving kleptocrats overseas or who promotes manufactured threats to justify it.
I say it’s time to put America First, and that’s why I founded Bring Our Troops Home.
Luckily, I’m not asking for billions of dollars for a corrupt, Eastern European dictatorship. Your generous contributions go directly towards our grassroots activism like phone banking, hosting Political Leadership Schools in communities like yours, and recruiting Defend the Guard bill sponsors in state legislatures — not to mention preparing for committee hearings, finding testimonials, and laying the groundwork for final passage.
A lot of work goes into this kind of success, and we’re the only national organization prioritizing the Defend the Guard movement every day year round.
When you include the fact that we’re going up against the War Party and their minions, we’ve really got our work cut out for us. But we’re lean, experienced, and determined. My team is ready not just to fight but to win.

ACTION: No More Illegal Foreign Wars
Our country should not go to war until Congress votes to declare it. Our soldiers should not put their boots on the ground until members of Congress put their names on the dotted line. If you believe in accountability and transparency in government on that most important issue, war and peace, please sign our petition so you can stand and be counted among our veterans and patriots.
BringOurTroopsHome.US is an organization composed of veterans of the Global War on Terror and their civilian allies who are dedicated to ending American involvement in our endless wars in the Middle East and bringing our troops home. We insist that the Constitution of the United States be respected and enforced, requiring a formal declaration of war by Congress before U.S. military forces are deployed into combat overseas. And we are committed to returning to a foreign policy befitting a limited government republic, one that puts “America First.”
To achieve these goals, BringOurTroopsHome.US will utilize public education, political action, and legislation, including passing “Defend the Guard” bills in state houses across the country.
