(November 22, 2023) — Hamas has announced a 4-day, “mutual and unconditional” ceasefire starting Thursday, Nov. 23. Two Egyptian security delegations will maintain security in Gaza, as 50 women and children under the age of 19 taken hostage on Oct. 7 could be freed in return for 150 Palestinian women and teenagers among 7,200 prisoners in Israeli detention. Israel says the “humanitarian pause” will be extended by 1 day for each additional batch of 10 hostages released.
Another 150 Palestinian prisoners could be subsequently freed in exchange for 50 more hostages. (Freeing Palestinian prisoners thrugh hostage swaps was a primary objective of Hamas in their Oct. 7 raids.) Though both sides have vowed to renew the carnage, Qatar’s chief negotiator hopes instead that this breakthrough would “be a seed to a bigger agreement and a permanent cease of fire.” Knowledgable sources say a “Two-State” proposal could be tabled at the UN within three weeks.

The children in the video ranged from the ages of 6 to 12 years old and were singing an updated version of Gouri’s poem. The children were reportedly among those evacuated “from the Gaza envelope settlements.”

What else would they sing when the leader of their nation tells the world these “barbaric,” “subhuman,” Palestinian “animals” must be “exterminated” because their very existence (as the wrong sort of Semitic families) “threatens the existence” of Israel — despite all of its surveillance, fences, walls, fighter-bombers, tanks, gunships, US billions and nuclear bombs.
This might be why Palestinian parents have told their angry kids, raised without prospects within prison walls for generations, “The Israelis want to kill you.” On Nov. 16, 2023, U.N. experts and scholars warned that grave violations committed by Israel against Palestinians point to a “genocide in the making.”

On Oct. 5, 832 Israelis stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem under the protection of Israeli forces. Meanwhile, Israeli extremists held “provocative marches” inside Jerusalem’s Old City and outside its walls, “attacking Palestinians and their property.”

What Kind of God Sanctions This?

Israel Admits it Killed its Own at Nova Music Festival
An Israeli police investigation into the Hamas attack on the Nova music festival near the Gaza border on 7 October revealed that an Israeli attack helicopter killed some of the attendees, Haaretz reported on 18 November.
According to a police source, an investigation into the incident showed that an Israeli combat helicopter that arrived at the scene from the Ramat David base fired at Hamas fighters and other Palestinians who crossed through the border fence from Gaza into Israel, but also fired on some of the Israelis attending the music festival. According to the police, 364 people were killed there.

During an emergency cabinet meeting on 7 October, with the Hamas attack still underway, Israel’s influential finance minister and occupation/settler leader, Bezalel Smotrich, urged the Israeli army to “hit Hamas brutally and not take the matter of the captives into significant consideration.”
