Tell the Pentagon: Stop Funding Elon Musk’s Anti-democracy Power Grab

ACTION ALERT: Musk Is a Threat to Democracy.
Why Does the Pentagon Keep Giving Him Millions?
Win Without War

The latest reports estimate this year’s Pentagon budget topline will be close to one TRILLION dollars, Friend. About half of that astronomical amount is slated to go straight to contractors, just like it has in years past. It’s meant BILLIONS for companies owned by Elon Musk. And there are BILLIONS more to be made yet.

Right now, U.S. tax dollars help fund the SpaceX’s Starlink and Starshield satellites Musk created — and he’s turned those profits into what Robert Reich calls, “a concerning level of power over US national security.” [1]

Now, under a second Trump administration, Musk may be tasked with “regulating” the very government agencies who dole out billions of dollars of federal contracts. [2]

The potential for corruption is sky high, and we can’t risk Elon Musk and other billionaires using their political contacts and power to get even more government contracts in the future — but it’ll take a groundswell of grassroots activism to break this feedback loop in its tracks. The Pentagon is accountable to Congress and the public. That’s why we’re working to send Defense Secretary Austin a message tens of thousands of people strong. Join us.

ACTION: Tell Secretary Austin: Elon Musk’s anti-democratic power grab shouldn’t be funded with taxpayer dollars. Deny SpaceX and other Musk-owned entities any new contracts!

Weapons and war contractors have made TRILLIONS of dollars in the past two decades in the name of national “security” — but the only thing secure is their profit margins.

The reality? Lockheed, General Dynamics, Raytheon, SpaceX, and others can profit and pay their investors TENS OF BILLIONS each year because U.S. taxpayers foot the bill.

The trillions we’ve spent over the past 20 years weren’t funding a cure for cancer, combatting the climate crisis, or solving homelessness. Instead of building a world where people across the globe feel safer, Elon Musk had recently used Starlink to disrupt Ukraine’s military communications, leveraged Twitter to undermine democratic discourse across the globe, and created the America Pac, a political action committee where he and his cronies plowed unlimited amounts of money toward Donald Trump and MAGA Republican candidates.

CEOs like Musk will fight tooth and nail to keep the dollars flowing. That’s why, if we have a fighting chance at ending this broken status quo, we’ve got to get to work.

Last year, after Elon Musk backed an antisemitic conspiracy theory on X, dozens of companies — Apple, Disney, Warner Bros, and more — pulled their advertising dollars instead of funding division and hate. It’s time for the Pentagon to follow suit.

Luckily, activists like you can help stop the U.S. government from writing more checks to someone actively working to undermine U.S. institutions. Can you speak out now to stop this corrupt cash flow?

ACTION: The U.S. government shouldn’t pad Musk’s pockets with MORE lucrative Pentagon contracts while he works to undermine U.S. democracy. Sign now if you agree: No new contracts for Elon Musk!

Take a moment to pause and imagine what the world would look like if our government stopped plowing billions toward weapons and war contractors and instead prioritized people’s needs, addressed the climate crisis, and built true security.

Those dreams can become a reality if we work together now.

Let’s stop paying the war profiteers dividends and start spending on the things that will improve people’s lives and strengthen our democracy.

Thank you for working for peace,
