ACTION ALERT:
Sanders and Warren Seek to Block New Arms Deals
The question of US arms shipments to Israel will be voted on the Senate floor this week, probably on Wednesday. Senator Elizabeth Warren has joined Senator Bernie Sanders in pledging to vote YES on six Joint Resolutions of Disapproval (JRD) resolutions, S.J.Res.111 through S.J.Res.116, which would block various arms shipments ranging from bombs and tank shells to jet fighter aircraft.
Read details of the JRD resolutions and the letter from 95 Massachusetts organizations and a letter from national organizations supporting them.

Senator Ed Markey and most other Senators have not yet taken a position on the JRD’s.   Please contact your Senators using this form and also call their offices on Monday, as follows:

1) Call the Congressional switchboard at 202-224-3121
2) Ask to be connected to the first of your two Senators
3) Once patched through, give them this message (in as much of your own words as possible):

Hello, my name is ______________ and I am a constituent of the Senator. I am calling to ask the Senator to co-sponsor and vote in support of Senator Bernie Sanders’ six Joint Resolutions of Disapproval to block additional weapons packages to the Israeli government.
These weapons are a violation of US and international law. Additionally, providing $20 billion in more arms and warplanes only enables Israeli PM Netanyahu’s genocidal war against the Palestinians, and could lead to the war escalating throughout the entire region.
The best and only way to stop this is to stop sending Israel more and more weapons. I urge the Senator to co-sponsor and vote in support of the six Joint Resolutions of Disapproval to enable a ceasefire, save innocent lives, and bring an end to this war.

4) When complete with your first Senator, ask the switchboard operator to then connect you with your other Senator’s office and repeat.
