(December 28, 2024) — Right now Rojava is in danger. After facing years of attacks and occupation from the forces of ISIS and Türkiye, war has come to Rojava yet again. After the recent fall of Bashar al-Assad, Türkiye and its jihadist proxy militias have been invading Rojava’s diverse autonomous communities, resulting in civilian deaths, looting, abuse, and the forced displacement of thousands from areas of Shehba and Manbij.

In the last several days, Türkiye has now set its sights on the historic Kurdish-majority city of Kobani.

Why Rojava Matters
Against all odds, the inspiring movement in North-East Syria led by Kurdish women is building and defending a society rooted in direct-democracy, women’s liberation, cooperation and ecology.

The people of Rojava are proving everyday that another world is indeed possible, offering hope and inspiration in a world plagued by violence and oppression.

ECR is dedicated to raising awareness about the Rojava revolution and bringing people together to support it. Through popular education and grassroots advocacy, we are working to build a bridge of solidarity between communities in North-East Syria and the United States.

Help Us Grow This Movement

In times like these, Rojava must not stand alone. That’s why we need your help to scale-up our work over the next year, by expanding our education program, broadening our outreach efforts, and strengthening our engagement in the Kurdish community here in the United States.

We spent the last year organizing and spreading the word through speaking tours, study groups, articles, interviews, coalition-building, advocacy, demonstrations, and more. This work is only made possible through the support of people like you.

We have ambitious plans for 2025, but we need resources to see them through. Your tax-deductible contribution will enable us to sustain our existing work and a part time staff member, and to launch several new exciting and urgent projects, including:

• A multimedia education series featuring original artwork and informational explainers.
• A campaign mobilizing public pressure against any attempt by the incoming Trump administration to back another Turkish invasion.
• A mutual aid network supporting the Kurdish migrant community in the United States.
