Israeli Strikes on Gaza Kill Hundreds,
UN’s Francesca Albanese Reacts

The Fourcast | Podcast / Channel 4 News

(March 18, 2025) — The ceasefire between Hamas and Israel has been broken, as Israel launched overnight air strikes on Gaza that Hamas says has killed more than 400 people — sparking fears the region could be plunged into all out war once again. Francesca Albanese is the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories and her opinions have sparked controversy in the past.

Israel officially banned her from entering the country in February 2024 after she wrote in a tweet “the victims of 7/10 were not killed because of their Judaism, but in response to Israel’s oppression”. Israeli officials condemned these words as “anti-semitic” and called on the UN to “public disavow” Ms. Albanese.

In this episode of The Fourcast, Krishnan Guru-Murthy speaks to Ms. Albanese about how she came to her conclusion that Israel is committing genocide, whether Hamas’ attack on October 7th was an act of genocide and what the international community can do to stop the bloodshed.

Israeli Strikes Kill 174+ Children in Gaza
As Netanyahu Breaks Ceasefire
Democracy Now!

(March 19, 2025) — The nearly two-month ceasefire in Gaza has been shattered as Israel carries out a second day of intense airstrikes. At least 27 Palestinians were killed in overnight strikes Tuesday night. This comes a day after Israel killed over 400 Palestinians, including at least 174 children.

The bombing is “the most savage attack that Gaza has witnessed in over a year,” says Muhammad Shehada, a writer and analyst from Gaza. He says the renewed assault in Gaza is linked to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s legal and political challenges at home.

“When you’re in crisis, nothing would unite your government, nothing would suppress any sort of protest or opposition, more than killing Palestinians.” Democracy Now! is an independent global news hour that airs on over 1,500 TV and radio stations Monday through Friday. Military Rebellion Erupts In Israel:
Reservists REJECT Israel’s War On Gaza
Times of India

(March 19, 2025) — Israel has resumed its military operations in Gaza, but some Israeli reservists are refusing to serve. Michael Majer, an Israeli reservist officer, was dismissed after publicly refusing to report for duty, calling Israel’s leadership “filthy traitors.” Another Air Force navigator was also removed for similar reasons.

These incidents highlight growing discontent among Israeli reservists. Meanwhile, Israel launched overnight airstrikes, killing at least 13 people, including two civilians in a tent near the Al-Mawasi humanitarian zone. Netanyahu vowed to continue combat operations “in full force.” The latest attacks follow the collapse of a ceasefire and hostage exchange deal in January.
