Saturday April 5: A National Day to
March for Peace and Liberty

(April 3, 2025) — I know most of us are reeling from the changes being made every day by the Trump-Musk axis of power. It’s a non-stop assault on human rights, the anti-war movement, and the social safety net.
Trump is actively promoting a campaign of ethnic cleansing and real estate development for Gaza while talking up military interventions in Mexico against cartels as well as land grabs in Canada, Greenland and Panama. He’s escalating crackdowns on pro-Palestinian activists like Mahmoud Khalil and Rumeysa Öztürk for daring to speak out. It can be hard to know what to do.
Butone thing is clear: Authoritarian takeovers in other countries have been pushed back when the broader public takes broad-based and sustained MASS action. Please commit to coming to one of these April 5 “Hands Off” events across the country on THIS SATURDAY.

It’s critical to battle Trump in the courts, the media and Congress. But without a massive demonstration of public anger, those will be woefully insufficient. Visible public mobilization can light a fire under the courts, public and Congress to take bolder action. We must unite to take back our country before it is too late.

On April 5, tens of thousands will take to the streets in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., united by a simple but powerful message: “Hands Off!” This is our opportunity to redirect the dangerous retrograde energy sweeping through our political system and build a mass movement capable of resisting authoritarianism.
