ACTION ALERT: Support House Rex. 317
For a Safe World Without Nuclear Weapons
Back from the Brink

(April 14, 2025) — On April 10th, Rep. Jim McGovern (MA-02) introduced H. Res. 317 which lays out how we can fundamentally reform US nuclear weapons policy and achieve a world free of nuclear weapons.

Rep. McGovern introduced a similar resolution last congressional session, which accumulated 44 co-sponsors. We need your help in substantially increasing that number during the 119th Congress.

The resolution is a huge step forward in increasing public awareness and building Congressional support behind this growing movement. We must find leaders on Capitol Hill who understand that nuclear weapons don’t keep us safe and actually pose the biggest and most immediate threat to humanity.

Let your member of Congress know that we can’t keep kicking the can down the road on this existential issue. We must create a safer world — a world without nuclear weapons — for us and for generations to come.

ACTION: Take action and join us in the fight by contacting your representative today!

THE LETTER

In January 2025, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists moved their Doomsday Clock ahead to 89 seconds before midnight — “the closest it has ever been to catastrophe.”

With the Ukraine – Russia war continuing for over three years, escalating tensions between the U.S. and China, and instability in the Middle East and between Pakistan and India, there is an ever-increasing threat of nuclear war and wide-scale destruction.

As your constituent, I am requesting that you co-sponsor H. Res. 317 introduced by Rep. Jim McGovern and Rep. Jill Tokuda on April 10th, 2025. The resolution outlines measures that the U.S. can take to advance nuclear arms control and reduce nuclear dangers.

A better, safer world without the ongoing threat of nuclear weapons is possible and this resolution is a substantial step in the right direction. Please be a leader and fight for future generations by being a co-sponsor for this resolution.
