Trump’s Budget:
A Disaster for Working Families
And a Goldmine for War Profiteers
War Budget Watch / Win Without War
(April 17, 2025) — Today, families across the country are worried, — about their jobs, their grocery bills, making rent, paying for childcare, and whether a retirement fund they’ve built over decades will be worth anything amidst a shaky stock market.
Meanwhile, as Trump and Hegseth are pledging a record-breaking $1 TRILLION Pentagon budget, Congress is busy putting the final touches on a budget proposal that would pour another $150 billion into weapons and war, PLUS $175 billion more to pay to detain and deport millions more people.
This budget plan is a disaster for working families and a goldmine for war profiteers and private prison contractors.
Trump’s budget is a nonstarter, but we won’t stop it unless we speak out. That’s what’s so important about this moment: MILLIONS of people are already saying “Hands Off” our resources and our communities.
Our voices are how we’ll remind members of Congress we won’t stand for a budget that’s little more than a slush fund for weapons contractors like Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, and Boeing, which rake in HALF the Pentagon topline every year. Together, we’ll push Congress to rethink its broken approach and prioritize peoples’ needs — so please act now.
Tell Congress: Reject this dangerous budget and invest in communities, not weapons and deportation.
This budget is an attack on the most vulnerable people in our country: children, people with disabilities, the elderly. If Congress moves forward on this disastrous path, tens of millions will lose their food assistance benefits and be kicked off of Medicaid while more money is shoveled to corporations that exploit government contracts for massive profits. Reports show that these same companies are price gouging the Pentagon by as much as 40%. Don’t forget: that’s ALL happening at YOUR expense, !
The United States already spends more on weapons and war than the next ten countries combined. If Elon & Co. truly cared about waste, they’d be cutting the billions of unaccounted-for dollars in the Pentagon budget instead of gutting programs that keep people alive.
The consequences of Trump’s budget will be felt for generations. We cannot allow our leaders to prioritize corporate greed over human lives.
If you agree, it’s not too late to make your voice heard, . Let’s speak in one unified voice to demand that our budget reflect our priorities.
Budgets are moral documents that reveal what we prioritize, value, and are willing to do to support one another. Together, we can stop this corrupt giveaway and invest in real change.
Thank you for working for peace,
