BREAK-OUT SESSIONS

Oil Addiction
On-going efforts to protest corporate control
of the political process to wage war for oil. This session will
be led by representatives from Amazon Watch, Project Underground,
Literacy for Environmental Justice, West County Toxics Coalition,
and the Ecology Center/Berkeley Biodiesel Cooperative.
The Arms Race
Efforts to
protest the research, design and manufacture of US weapons
of mass destruction, including the proposal for mini-nukes and
bunker busters. This session will critique the University of California's
role at the Livermore National Laboratories with Andrew Lichterman,
Western States Legal Foundation and Marylia Kelley, Tri-Valley
CAREs.
Youth
and Campus Organizing
Schools and universities around the
Bay Area will send representatives to network on peace efforts
on campuses with Tara Dorabji, Tri-Valley CAREs.
Activist Skills
Resources for activists
focusing on direct action, grassroots organizing, media,
legislation, litigation, research and analysis with Bill Hackwell,
International
ANSWER, Carl
Zichella, Sierra Club, Philip Klasky, Bay Area Nuclear Waste
Coalition and Karen Pickett, Earth First!
Bay Area Military Base Cleanup and Conversion
Efforts
to clean-up military bases and protect the communities that
are impacted by them. Organized by Arc Ecology, Fellowship of Reconciliation
and Filipino American Coalition for Environmental Safeguards,
and Working with Middle America To Change Military Policy.
